#Instaheroes is the personal work of sculptor Despina Thrasivoulou, who draws influences from today's society, fashion, advertising and more generally everything that embraces our everyday life. An important role in her art played her childhood, the toys and figures the sculptures first saw as a child. Growing up, her beloved paper heroes grew aswell, adopting in turn the ways of modern times.
Heroes demystified, heroes who are no longer interested in saving the world but come to leave their own mark in time emphasizing on the signs of today and what we are experiencing. The main feature of her work is humor and irony, perhaps even a secret complaint about the ideal patterns that society itself imposes on us daily.
Despina Thrasivoulou was born in Paphos, Cyprus on 19 April 1995. She graduated with high school and then studied at the Athens Fine Arts School (2013-2018) in the field of sculpture with Professor Nikos Tranos.
